What is a Postal Match?


Before the internet, if friendly target shooters wanted to compete against one another they could either meet together and exchange targets, or they would participate in a Postal Match. Typically these contests were a standard course of fire that the participants shot, then mailed to the contest organizer for tally. Since the internet can provide us with nearly instant feedback, and we can trade many different targets, it seems to be an ideal format for the "Modern Postal Match".

The Tour de France July Fun Match - Just for Practice

This will not be an official match since many of us are out of town, but in honor of my favorite annual sporting event, I thought those of you who are still around would like a little practice.


2 Hands
7 Yards
15 Shots
Yellow, Green or Polkadot Jersey = 10 Points
All others = 5 Points
Only one hit per jersey allowed
Maximum Score = 90

Kudos to those who shoot the jerseys of the top five finishing teams in the tour!
You may have to go hunting for the answer.
